4 Books I Want All My Clients to Read

And Why YOU Should Read Each One

Reading in the library

I’m a work in progress. Recently, I realized how inflexible I can be (a topic I cover in other posts). Along with greater self-awareness, reading inspiring books has sparked major shifts in my attitude—second only to the influence of people and life experiences.

There are 2 major perspective shifts I hope sink in for me and my clients each day.

Two Perspective Shifts

Shift #1: Be Flexible: You have choices—you’re not trapped. Rigidity fuels fear; flexibility brings balance, freedom, and hope. With an open mind and heart, you expect the best, accept others as they are, and act on truth rather than feelings.
Shift #2: Be Yourself: Being honest with yourself takes courage—and few choose it. Self-honesty builds self-awareness, helping you see your worth and live it boldly, despite the urge to hide. You’ll take risks, build thriving relationships, and stop settling.

We change long-held beliefs by consistently filling our lives with healthy influences—people, books, podcasts, music—and limiting the unhealthy ones. You become what you focus on. Here are four books that have influenced my life and can spositive influence yours too.

4 Books I Hope All My Clients Read

The Compound Effect: Jumpstart Your Income, Your Life, Your Success by Darren Hardy

Life is built on choices, and this book drives that truth home. Learn how to intentionally shape a positive future—step by step, decision by decision. Stay the course, and you’ll experience breakthroughs, discover clarity about yourself, and grow excited about your potential.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

A principle-centered approach to solving personal and professional challenges. Through powerful insights and real-life stories, Stephen R. Covey outlines a step-by-step path to living with fairness, integrity, honesty, and dignity—principles that provide the security to embrace change and the wisdom to seize the opportunities it brings.

The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks & Win Your Inner Creative Battles by Steven Pressfield

A clear look at the creative process—and the inner battle that holds you back. Learn how resistance (evil, darkness) and self-sabotage (fear, anxiety, your past) work against you, and how to overcome them. Gain the inspiration to face your fears and live fully. Steven Pressfield’s perspective is unique, sometimes abrasive, yet always truthful.

The Untethered SoulThe Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael Singer

Fear is our shared problem—yours and mine. Get out of your head and start truly living. Understand the mind: how it formed, why it often lies to keep you “safe,” and how to spot fear, face it, and release it. It’s not light reading, and some chapters may need a second pass, but it’s worth every bit of effort.

All 4 of these books above are also available in the audible version. Read or listen to one over the next week. You won’t regret it!
